“Every time I've done something that doesn't feel right, it’s ended up not being right”

                                                                                         -Mario Cuomo

This reflection to me means that when you have done something and you feel that it’s not right it will turn out to be not good at all. Your conscience is the one that takes over and tries to stop you from doing bad things or making bad choices. It will tell you what you are doing wrong it is up to you if you choose to listen to it or to not listen to it.

“Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me”
                          -Carol Burnett

Reflection:

This quote to me means that I am the only one that has the power to change anything I do not like in my life. If I feel that I am doing something wrong or I do not like the way my life is going I am the only that has the power to change it no one else can do it for me. In freshman year I was struggling and not passing most of my classes and I thought to myself what am I doing wrong or what can I change to make my life better. I ended up changing to a different school and I did a lot better in this new school my grades got better and my life changed little by little and all with me wanting to change how my life is going and now my life is great all thanks to me wanting to do better.

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails”

                                                   - Henry David Thoreau

Reflection:

This quote means that you shouldn't feel bad when all you do is good things you should feel good about it. Later on the good things you do will come back and reward you for all the good things that you have done. Always try to do good things and never regret that you have done them.  I did something good one day that I didn't really think that people would notice it but later on they did and I got rewarded for it. I was honest about something that I did and since I was honest I avoided an argument with my mom.

” When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.”
                                                       - Abraham Lincoln

Reflection:

This quote to me means that when I do something good it makes me feel good about myself and what I have done makes it even better. When I do something bad my conscious won’t leave me alone and it makes me feel horrible until I fix what I have done. Like when I offered my seat to an older lady I felt really good because that to me made me feel proud of myself because I did it with anyone telling me that I had to do it. When I do something bad like when I don’t want to help my little brothers out with something and they leave it makes me feel really bad that I have to call them back and help them out with what they needed help with in the first place. Sometimes your conscious is stronger than you are and takes over with all the guilt that you have inside. Do not let the guilt eat you alive do the right thing.

Bullying

Bullying

Why do kids and teens Bully? That is a question everyone asks themselves why do other kids like to bully other kids. Bullying is really common in all schools these days. Some kids are intimated by other kids and sometimes they don't even want to go to school and they just turn there lives upside down because of these evil kids that don't think words can hurt others. It hurts kids so much that they do not even want to go to school anymore, they don;t want to eat, and they become really depressed. Some kids even kill themselves because they can't take the pressure anymore and they take the easy way out according to them. But kids need to speak up when they are being bullied things can change when you speak and not let those bullies intimidate you. Parents need to be aware a lot from changes that they see in there kids and when they do change don't hesitate to go to the  school and see what is going on always find  a way to help your children out even if they do not want to be helped out. There are always solutions to these problems you just have to find ways to either speak up or try to help someone out with the problem that they have.

“I shall pass through this life but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it; for I shall never pass this way again.”

                                                   AMON

Reflection:

This to me is saying you only live once so make all the good choices you can right now in your life. If you can do something right do it when you can because you will never get another life chance to do this again? It is sometimes difficult to do something nice for someone  but always try to make someone’s day no matter what.

“You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.”

                                                         -Robert E. Lee

Reflection:

Sometimes it is better to do what is right and like they say practice makes perfect. If you continue to do what is the right thing to do then it will be easier for you to continue to do the right thing no matter what other people think about it. Sometimes your conscience speaks more for you than anything else in the world. The little voice that tells you what is right and what is wrong that’s your conscience if you choose to do the right thing then your conscience will be clean but if you choose the wrong thing then your conscience will be bothering you until you choose to either fix what you did wrong or to never do the wrong thing again.

I have three messages.
  1.   We should never, ever give up.
  2.  You never are too old to chase after your dreams.
  3.  It looks like a solitary sport, but it takes a team.

-Diana Nyad

Reflection:

This woman is famous around the world now, she made history and she should be very proud of herself. She gave all of us hope that it is never too late to go for your dreams and always work hard to achieve them. Her story inspires me because I know that because of her age it should be really complicated to do something like this but yet she still did it. The three things she told the entire world was very inspiring because that made people think twice know about saying oh I can’t do it because it is too hard.
