Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“Cowardice asks the question, is it safe? Expediency ask the question, is it politic? Vanity asks the question, is it popular? But, conscience ask the question, is it right? And there comes a time when we must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that it is right.” –Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I think that the statement is trying to say that sometimes in life we do have to take risks that are not always in our comfort zone but we have to take them because we know that it is the right thing to do because our mind is telling us that it is the right thing to do. We tend to stay in our little groups where we do not know what happens outside of our group especially in high school because we are so caught up in not trying to ruin our high school experience that we take the easy way out and not take the risks that we should have taken and then we end up regretting the things that we did not do or the things we did not accomplish because we were so busy being scared to try new things and to follow our conscience.
