Medical Illustrator
Duties and Responsibilities:
Medical illustrators are
highly skilled artist who works only in the medical field. They draw graphics
for textbooks, magazines, books, and educational films. They draw all the parts
of the human body in great description. At times, they are called upon to use modeling
skills to create artificial body parts, such as ears, and noses, for patients
that are deformed or have undergone some surgeries.
Average Salary: $35,000-$50,000
Educational Requirements:
If interested in becoming this student’s should
take a college preparatory program that focuses only on science and art. In
college students should either major in science and minor in art or major in
art and minor in science. The
majority of medical illustrators have master's degrees in the field from a
program that is accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Educational Programs. If you want to be a medical illustrator you
have to get a graduates degree in medical illustration.
I
do not think that I would like to become a medical illustrator because I am a
horrible drawer and drawing does not really catch my attention, I do not think
that I would be the person for this job.
