Duties and Responsibilities:

 Eastern medicine doctor treat disorders and illnesses through the application of traditional Chinese medicine practices such as Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. Chinese medicine practitioners may perform the following tasks: Diagnose health problems through discussions with the patient; checking the patient's pulse and tongue; and observing defects in sleep, hunger, perspiration and body temperature Formulate traditional Chinese medicine treatment plans based on the patient's diagnosis Prescribe medicinal substances derived from roots, flowers, seeds and leaves in the form of teas, capsules, tinctures or powders Advise on dietary and lifestyle choices Apply other therapies such as acupuncture, cupping (applying a heated cup to the skin to create suction), and exercise and breathing therapy.

Education:

Duties and Responsibilities:

They oversee the medical and administrative operations of clinics and other medical facilities. They supervise both clinical and administrative staff, their role is similar to a practice administrator, but it includes recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of medical staff such as physicians, nurses, and orderlies as well as administrative employees such as billing clerks and medical coders.

Dependent on the size of the workplace and the exact demands of the spot, employers' education requirements for clinical managers will differ. Generally, you'll need to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a field like medical services administration or health care administration. Coursework in a relevant 4-year, bachelor degree program includes courses on health care law and ethics, health care financial management, organization and management in health care, information systems for health care, health care administration, and case management. Clinical managers are responsible for running many areas of medical establishments and should be comfortable breaking down and delegating tasks when appropriate. Radiologic Technologist

Radiologic Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

They use x-ray machines, ultrasound machines, magnetic resonance scanners, positron emission scanners, and other technologically advanced machines to help diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries under the direction of a doctor.  They are responsible for explaining and getting patients ready for radiological tests and treatments that will be performed. They place the gear at the right space and right angle from the patient to make the correct descriptions for the doctor. They also assist doctors in performing classy techniques. It is their responsibility to guarantee that the radiology equipment is properly conserved.  They work in hospitals, clinics, medical laboratories, nursing homes, and in private industry.

Average Salary:  $24,000 - $36,000

Educational Requirements:

Students should take the most challenging science, math, and English courses available in high school. To become a registered radiologic technologist, students must complete a two year training program in a hospital or school.  A high school diploma or GED is required for admission into these programs

Ophthalmologist

         Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

They are physicians that specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat the visual problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When they have to they preform eye surgery. Most of them are in private, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and others perform research.

Average Salary:  $90,000-$150,000

Educational Requirements:

Only Physicians may study to be ophthalmologist. After they complete medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency on an approved ophthalmologist program. After they complete the program they must pass a test to be certified.

I do think that I would like to become this because they help out patients a lot and they have to study a lot and I feel like it will be a challenge that I am going to accept.

Industrial Hygienist

     Industrial Hygienist

Duties and Responsibilities:

They evaluate health hazards, conduct health risk assessments, manage industrial or business health programs, and provide consultation.  They may be administrators, researchers, consultants or teachers.  Many work as part of an industrial or government team, although some have private practices. What they often do is Collect samples and perform laboratory analyses, and other things like check workers exposures, calibrate equipment, they do epidemiological research, and they instruct employs on how to be safe.

Average Salary: $40,000-$60,000

Education:

The students should try to take the most challenging courses in high school and study really hard while choosing the right. It requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health engineering, or the physical sciences.  Many jobs require certification and/or a Master's Degree in these, or related, fields.  Certification requires successful completion of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene examination.

I do not think that I would like to be an Industrial Hygienist because I don’t think that I can learn all the things that I need to learn to be a Industrial Hygienist.

Healthcare Administrator




Healthcare Administrator 
Duties and Responsibilities:

Healthcare administrators  manage hospitals and other healthcare facilities.  They are responsible for a lot of things like, planning, financial administration, personnel administration, materials management, purchasing, public affairs and patient administration. 
Small hospitals sometimes only have one administrator while other hospitals have many working there to help them out with a bigger variety of patients and other things. Some of these health care  administrators specialize in specific things like patient administration or purchasing. 

Average Salary:$40,000-$110,000
Educational Requirements:

Most students choose to get a master's degree in health administration or public health. Students in high school should also take the most challenging courses provided at your school.
Choose the right!!!

I think that I would like to be a health care administrator because it sounds like an interesting job to be filing papers and doing other things.

Histology Specialists

Histology Specialists 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Histology Specialists include both Histologic Technicians and Histologists.  Histologists are also referred to as Histotechnologists.  Both histologic technicians and histologists prepare tissue samples that are used by physicians to determine if a patient has a disease, dysfunction, or malignancy. 
Histology technicians and histologists prepare samples by using equipment to thinly slice tissue samples.  They then mount the thin slices on microscope slides and use chemicals to stain them so important structures are visible. 
Histologists perform more complex and advanced procedures than technicians and often also perform management functions. 
Histology specialists work in hospital, veterinary, pharmacy, or research laboratories.
Average Salary:  
$22,000 - $35,000 (Histologic technicians)
$30,000 - $50,000 (Histologists)
Educational Requirements:
Students should take the most challenging high school courses in science, math, and English. 
To become a histologic technician, students must either earn an associate's degree in the field and complete a one year internship or complete a long-term training program in a histopathology lab.  They must also pass a national examination. 
To become a histologist, students must either earn a bachelor's degree that includes a one year clinical internship or complete a long-term training program in a histopathology lab.  They must also pass a national examination.

Epidemiologist

Epidemiologist

Duties and Responsibilities:
Epidemiologists study the frequency and distribution of diseases within human populations and environments.  Specifically, they measure the incidence of disease occurrence and relate it to different characteristics of populations and environments.  Epidemiologists perform research, education, and public health practice in universities, government agencies, international organizations, and private corporations.  Epidemiologists often: 
  • Work on developing or refining methods of measuring and evaluating disease occurrences.
  • Develop and recommend public health policy.
  • Study or research chronic diseases, infectious diseases, disease outbreaks, injuries, occupations, and environments.
Average Salary:  $30,000 - $50,000
Educational Requirements:
Students should take the most challenging high school courses (including AP or IB courses) available in science, math, and English. 
Epidemiologists have, as a minimum, master's degrees in public health.  Undergraduate requirements for admissions into public health graduate programs vary by schools but usually include strong backgrounds in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and or statistics.
