Ophthalmic Technician

Ophthalmic Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

They are also known as technologists help ophthalmologist, they collect data and measurements to allow the correct diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and problems. They usually work at hospitals, clinics, or for a private ophthalmic clinic. They perform simple eye exams, they assist in eye surgery, and they explain the diagnostic and the procedure to the patients.

Average Salary: $14,000- $25,000

Educational Requirements:

To become an Ophthalmic Technician you will need a high school diploma or a GED certificate. After you have either one of these you need to attend a two year college prior to beginning ophthalmic training programs, the programs last very little but can last up to two years.
I do not wish to become this because I feel that I might need something more challenging not something that takes only a little of time to complete.
