Ophthalmologist

         Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

They are physicians that specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat the visual problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When they have to they preform eye surgery. Most of them are in private, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and others perform research.

Average Salary:  $90,000-$150,000

Educational Requirements:

Only Physicians may study to be ophthalmologist. After they complete medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency on an approved ophthalmologist program. After they complete the program they must pass a test to be certified.

I do think that I would like to become this because they help out patients a lot and they have to study a lot and I feel like it will be a challenge that I am going to accept.
