Ophthalmologist
Duties and Responsibilities:
They are physicians that
specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat the
visual problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective
eyeglass lenses. When they have to they preform eye surgery. Most of them are
in private, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and others
perform research.
Average Salary: $90,000-$150,000
Educational Requirements:
Only Physicians may study to
be ophthalmologist. After they complete medical school and an internship, an
ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency on an
approved ophthalmologist program. After they complete the program they must
pass a test to be certified.
I do think that I would like
to become this because they help out patients a lot and they have to study a
lot and I feel like it will be a challenge that I am going to accept.
